OK , here is one more band , i've been listening to . I got my hands only on one of their album , but they kick ass in that album. Devin Townsend is awesome. His vocals are jus too good. And My new Drumming God , Gene Hoglan . He is jus too much. I jus adore his drumming. He is ex- Dark Angel and ex- Death drummer. And he is jus too good. He is my god now. If i think abt drumming , the ultimate wud be to be atleast half of wat he is. Which i think is also a difficult task. So the band for todays post is SYL. And the album ive been listening to is Alien. It is a kick ass album , with heavy riffs yet melodic, some hardcore double bass drumming. My favs are "Love ? " , "Skeksis" , "Shine" , "Possessions" and "Two Weeks" and "zen " too :)

yeah! SYL owns. thank me for introducing u to Death, SYL, Meshuggah :D anyway, you got to check out Devin Townsend's side projets also. Ocean Machine and Physicist are mind blowing.. border on prog/metal/psychedelic! mind blowing vocals. i can go on and on about him. its unbelievable what all this guy is capable of.
man people talk abt meshuggah as math metal band man .... but i somehow feel their lyrics have a dark feel , and i'd rather say they are death metal band ..... but it doesnt matter , they kick ass anyway :) .... and SYL rules man .... Devin Townsend and My GOD GENE HOGLAN ..... They are awesome. I wanna get my hands on their other albums. Heard Aliens pretty well. Wanna listen to CITY and SYL . Try and get them be :)
dark lyrics doesnt mean death metal.. i think the best way you can describe the band is probably thrash/math metal. anyway, fuck the labels. enjoy their mind blowing music. i'm hooked to their 1995 release Destroy-Erase-Improve. everyone who's heard meshuggah has been blown away in some way or the other :)
